Colby Sherwin

Musician + Storyteller + Teacher

Biography

Colby Sherwin is a devoted musician and music educator who has experience in performance, composition, ensemble leadership, concert/stage management, administration, recording production, and community engagement.

He now plays drums in various groups throughout Greater Boston but also grew up playing saxophone, guitar, keyboard, and voice.

While attending Salem State University for both Business Administration and Music Performance, he began what would become a long and enduring journey with musician and mentor, Tony Wolff. Through these regular lessons Colby builds upon his ear training, rhythmic conception, and story-telling abilities across a wide variety of instruments.

He is passionate about building musical environments and exploring improvisational possibilities alone and with others.

Colby seeks to unite communities through the experience of music. Playing often in public settings to promote access to live music has allowed for him to spread the message on how valuable listening to each other is in today’s world.

In 2026, Colby was awarded a Somerville Arts Council Artist Fellowship Grant and is greatly looking forward to his upcoming local performances.
